You must provide names of 5 student officers or leaders of your group.
These must include the President/Primary Leader and Treasurer/Financial
Officer, and all must read and sign statement #10.
A graduate student organization is a student group, whose primary purpose
as identified by the group is to support, benefit, and promote the goals/needs/interests
of UC Davis graduate students. The group membership must consist of a
minimum of 66% graduate students and at least two of the officers must
be graduate students.
Organizations may not discriminate on the basis or race, color, national
origin, religion, sex, age, handicap or sexual orientation when selecting
members.
A student organization may not use the university name or "Cal Aggie"
as part of its name and/or website, except to describe its location (e.g.
"Social Club at UC Davis TM").
Only currently registered UCD students may vote, hold office
or direct and control the programs and finances of student organizations.
Associate membership is open to all others (including PELP and concurrent
students). They may not vote, hold office or direct the group or finances.
Non-students may comprise no more than 25% of the group’s membership.
Advisors to the group may not vote, hold office, reserve facilities,
or direct and control the programs and finances of the group.
The purpose statement for your group must be very clear and specific.
Applications with purpose statements which are vague, confusing or similar
to another group’s will be returned for more clarification.
NOTE: Public information about a student may be disclosed without
a student’s prior written consent unless the student notifies the UC Davis
Registrar’s Office in writing or via an established electronic procedure
that such information shall be confidential. Public information includes
name, address, e-mail address, and telephone number. If you have not designated
your information confidential, CSI may release this information about
you as a representative of this organization. If you have notified the
Registrar’s Office that this information is confidential, you may waive
confidentiality for purposes of acting as representative of this organization
by initialing Part I, #8 on this application. In doing so, you authorize
CSI to list information about you on print and electronic publications
related to the organization, and to release this information when requested
in connection with the organization
