New Insurance Program for all Student Organization Reservations
As previously announced, the University has implemented an insurance program for student organization events at all campuses that is now in effect on our campus for ALL facility reservations. The University has purchased a commercial insurance policy to cover most on-campus student organization events. Insurance for covered events will be paid by the University, but student organizations are responsible for making sure their event is covered.
Instructions for getting your insurance coverage are available on the CES website under “Reservation Request Form” at http://www.cevs.ucdavis.edu/dept_cont/obf/. If your event is not automatically covered, you will need to sign up at the CampusConnexions link. The lists of what events are and are not automatically covered can be found at “On Campus Events” on the CampusConnexions site. If your event is not on either list, contact Risk Management Services at rms@ucdavis.edu per instructions on the CES site.
Groups that have their own insurance policy may use it instead if it meets the University requirements listed. Fraternities and sororities with national insurance are not eligible for the University policy and must use their own policy. PLEASE NOTE: If your fraternity or sorority is listed incorrectly as having or not having your own insurance, please contact us at spac@ucdavis.edu and we will make the correction.
